There is no snow on the ground in Seward from June to October, so all tours will be on a dirt track riding in a wheeled cart that the dogs use for summer training.
How long is the sled dog ride and kennel tour?
The Wilderness Dog Sled Tour lasts 1.5 hours. Please plan to arrive 15 minutes early for check-in.

Our tour is all about the dogs! You’ll have plenty of opportunities to interact with them throughout the experience, including some time to play with the puppies.

Absolutely! You’ll have plenty of opportunities to chat with your musher guide and ask questions during the tour.
Are the sleds on wheels?
Yes, in the summer months, our tours use sleds equipped with wheels.
How bumpy is the ride, and who can safely participate?
Our sleds are designed for comfort, featuring padded seats and airbag suspension. Guests with back issues, those in the first two trimesters of pregnancy, or elderly individuals have ridden comfortably with no concerns. While the tour is not fully wheelchair accessible, wheelchairs and walkers can be used around the kennel. As long as guests can take two steps (with assistance) to get into the cart, they should have no trouble participating.
